Transportation to/from Suvarnabhumi Airport(Cont.)
BMTA Bus
The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA) services people with buses from Suvarnabhumi Airport to various destinations in Bangkok. Its terminal station is at the Public Transport Center and is a building situated some distance from the Passenger Terminal. Passengers may make use of the Airport’s Shuttle Bus service which is free of charge to go to the Public Transport Center. Follow this link for the BMTA Bus routes.

Bor Kor Sor Bus
Bor Kor Sor Bus service provides bus service to various destinations in the country such as Pattaya, Chonburi, Khon Kaen and the bus terminals in Bangkok (Ekkamai and Chatuchak Bus Terminals). The buses pick up passengers at the Public Transport Center during 05:30 a.m. to 09:00 p.m. Passengers may buy tickets at the service counter at the Public Transport Center itself or at the Ticket Counter on the 1st floor, Gate 8 of the Passenger Terminal then use the Airport’s shuttle bus service free of charge to the Public Transport Center. Public Van
Public vans service the public between Suvarnabhumi Airport and various destinations. Their fleet is found at the Public Transport Center and they stop to transfer and pick up passengers at the Passenger Terminal on the 1st floor, Gate 1 and Gate 8. In case any passenger comes on board accompanied by large luggage that passenger may have to pay for an extra seat for the luggage. Shuttle Bus within Airport
Suvarnabhumi Airport provides a shuttle bus for passengers and airport employees between Passenger Terminal and other buildings within the airport. There are 2 types of shuttle bus – Express Line and Local Line – which have different routes throughout Suvarnabhumi Airport. Passengers may avail themselves of these services to get from the Passenger Terminal and Public Transport Center with the two types of Shuttle Bus which give a 24-hour service free of charge.

The Express Line Shuttle Bus will stop only at Public Transport Center, Passenger Terminal on the 4th floor, Gate 5 and Passenger Terminal on the 2nd floor, Gate 5. Service is given every 5 minutes during rush hours from 05:00 a.m. – midnight and every 15 minutes during regular hours from midnight – 05:00 a.m.

The Local Line Shuttle Bus covers 4 routes: Line A, Line B, Line C, and Line D, also servicing passengers between the Public Transport Center and the Passenger Terminal like the Express Line, but using different routes to transfer passengers to different buildings within the airport and having differences in travel time. Line A and Line B pick up passengers at Gate 1 and Gate 10 on the 1st floor of the Passenger Terminal while Line C and Line D pick up passengers at Gate 5 of the 4th floor (Departure Terminal), as well as Gate 5 of the 2nd floor (Arriving Terminal).


Transfer Bus between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Muaeng Airport
Passengers who wish to travel between Suvarnabhumi Airport and Don Mueang International Airport may use shuttle bus service free of charge. The shuttle bus operates from 05:00 a.m. until midnight. Passengers who want to travel from Suvarnabhumi Airport to Don Mueang International Airport may board the shuttle bus from the Passenger Terminal at Gate 3 of the 2nd floor while shuttle bus coming from Don Mueang International Airport will drop off passengers at the Passenger Terminal at Gate 5 on the 4th floor.


Car Rental
There are 4 private car rental counters at Suvarnabhumi Airport - AVIS Car Rental, Hertz Car Rental, Budget Car Rental and Thai Car Rental Association. Tourists may avail themselves of the services at Gate 8 on the 2nd floor of the Passenger Terminal.

Limousine
Airport Limousine, with its 24-hour service, can offer many types of vehicles such as Luxury Sedan, SPV, Sedan, Van or SUV. Fare depends on the distance traveled. Service is available at the Airport Limousine Service Counter on the 2nd floor at Baggage Claims and Arrival Hall exits, channel A, B and C.

Suvarnabhumi Airport

Suvarnabhumi Airport is one of Thailand’s two main international airports and serves inbound and outbound flights to and from Bangkok (the other airport being Don Mueang International Airport). The name "SUVARNABHUMI AIRPORT" was bestowed by His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and the word “Suvarnabhumi” means “The Golden Land”.


Suvarnabhumi Airport was officially opened in September 2006 to serve most flights coming to Thailand, instead of Don Mueang International Airport which currently serves mainly low cost domestic flights, which makes Suvarnabhumi Airport one of the 20 busiest airports in the world by passenger traffic, according to information from Airports Council International (ACI).

Passenger Terminal
Suvarnabhumi Airport’s Passenger Terminal is a single building with 7 floors and 2 basements serving inbound and outbound passengers. It also houses the airport link, shops, restaurants and various agencies. Following are the services available here:

Transportation to / from Suvarnabhumi Airport
Suvarnabhumi Airport is situated on Bangna-Trad Road, Samut Prakan, 25 kilometers east of downtown Bangkok. The Airport can be reached by various means, for instance, private cars, taxi, bus, and Airport Rail Link.

Private car
There are 5 routes by which private cars can gain access to Suvarnabhumi Airport: One route is connected to the Bangkok-Chonburi Motorway on the north, one to Rom Klao Road and King Kaew Road at the northwest, one to King Kaew Road in the west, one to Bangna-Trat Road and Buraphavithi Expressway in the south and one to Onnuth Road in the northeast. Two car park buildings for short-term parking are available near the Passenger Terminal and parking fee is calculated by the hour. A large parking area is available for long-term parking and parking fee is according to monthly subscription rate.

Taxi
Passengers who require taxi service may enquire at the 1st Floor, Gate 4 and Gate 7 of the Passenger Terminal. Fares will be charged according to distance traveled and the passenger must pay a surcharge of THB 50 to the driver. Outbound passengers will be dropped off at the outbound parking area on the 4th floor which is the floor for both domestic and international outbound passengers.

Airport Rail Link
Suvarnabhumi Airport Rail Link (SARL) or Airport Link is a rail link which serves passengers traveling between Suvarnabhumi Airport and downtown Bangkok via three routes:
1. Suvarnabhumi Airport City Line (SA City Line)
  Servicing between Phaya Thai Station and Suvarnabhumi Airport Station and stopping at 6 stations on the way to pick up passengers: Rajprarop Station, Makkasan Station, Ramkhamhaeng Station, Hua Mark Station, Thab Chang Station and Lad Krabang Station. Total travel time is 30 minutes. The fare is between THB 15 – 45 depending on the distance traveled. Service begins from 06:00 a.m. to midnight.
2. Suvarnabhumi Airport Express - Makkasan (Makkasan Express Line)
  Non-stop service directly from Makkasan Station to Suvarnabhumi Airport Station. Total travel time is 15 minutes. The fare for a single trip ticket is THB 90 and a round trip ticket is 150 Baht. Service begins from 06:00 a.m. to midnight.
3. Suvarnabhumi Airport Express - Phaya Thai (Phaya Thai Express Line)
  Direct non-stop service from Phaya Thai Station to Suvarnabhumi Airport Station. Total travel time is 17 minutes. The fare for a single trip ticket is THB 90 and a round trip ticket is THB 150. Service begins from 06:00 a.m. to midnight.

Note: Passengers who want to connect with BTS Skytrain or MRT Subway to other destinations can select the connecting route between the Airport Link and the BTS at Phaya Thai Station and the MRT at Makkasan Station.
