I recently watched a music video which tells the story of a young man who had been advised by his doctor to take a trip to some far-off destination so that the fresh air there would cure him of his allergies. He took off, and the next we saw of him he was coming down an ancient-looking bus in the midst of pretty tea planters at a northern countryside plantation with picturesque hills serving as the background.
Now, you may not be going so far out to the country that you have to get down from an ancient-looking bus, but the following expressions will certainly help if you decide to backpack to villages and other cities in Thailand. At a bus or train terminal, you may need to ask these questions, and if people don’t understand you for some reason or other, it may be helpful to say them in Thai. I am sure they will make you feel more confident to travel upcountry and enjoy your trip.

As I said in the previous Episodes, in Thai language the word I is translated as Chan when spoken by a female, and Pom when spoken by a male, and Thai sentences often end with ka when spoken by a female and krub when spoken by a male, so you should choose only one form when you speak. :)
